TECHNOLOGY, SMALL BUSINESSES OWNERS AND THE COMMUNITY MEET
Chicago, IL – More than 500 women and men will gather together on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 at the Illinois Institute of Technology in the atrium for the “Red Velvet Shopping Experience” scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. This kick-off celebration is centered on supporting 45 small business owners that have merely survived since the economic downtown in 2009. The event will showcase these professional entrepreneurs; make a plea to community residents throughout the city of Chicago to support these companies and most importantly removing them from surviving to thriving by each business owner completing a professional technology pilot program sponsored by the Illinois Institute of Technology..
For the past several years, small business owners have experienced decreased revenues and an increase in responsibilities to maintain their businesses. Nicole J-Wheatly, former owner of Sensual Steps Shoes and new proprietor of Nchantment Shoes have partnered with the Leroy Kennedy and Jodi Houlihan of the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation, Truth B Told Magazine, Kharyn Beard, Khamryn B Shoes and Sib’s Breakfast Club are working to close the gap on technology, financing and other related issues that exist within businesses.
Inspiring Entrepreneurs throughout the city will have the opportunity to market their businesses among a shared audience of clients. Small business owners typically do not see big sales prior to the Black Friday because of the Big Box Stores sales. So this year, small businesses are getting smart and starting their shopping frenzy with phenomenal sales, products and services that will be offered to clients before Black Friday actually hits.
